ELIZABETH BROWNE ROGERS, 1761
This is a painting of Robert Rogers’ wife, painted by Joseph Blackburn. It hangs in the Reynolda House, Winston Salem, NC. George Washington helped facilitate her divorce from Rogers in New Hampshire. Part of the grounds for divorce included “…Infidelity to her Bed”
Now I ask you, gentleman, could you “range” for years on end and neglect a beautiful lady like this and worse??
Ladies, gander this dress (eat your hearts out like I am!)
