This past weekend marked the 230th anniversary of the the birth of John Sevier and members of the Washington Co Militia were on hand on Saturday to mark the event. On Friday, some members recounted various aspects of the Revolution during Sevier’s time to a group of SAR, DAR and CAR members.

On Saturday , there was a wreath laying ceremony and the highlight was when Chad and Ronnie, ably assisted by the official PM, Sterling Curde,  shot off  Spud, the baby-boom (this thing has to have a name!) Bob Yankle took the money shot- wow! Ronnie said when they shot it the first time, it rattled the leaves.

From the look of some of Tim Massey’s wonderful pictures, everyone had a nice time and Sevier was appropriately feted.  I’ll see if  Ican capture some of his pictures and post them in the next few days.
