To the Washington County Militia,
I certainly hope that this finds everyone well and geared up for the Holiday season. It is hard to believe that its just around the corner. Three things coming up that I need to mention.
1. Saturday, November 10th 9am – 4pm: Military Timeline at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City. Paul Morrison, the organizer of the event contacted me with a request for Rev War re-enactors for the timeline. I am planning to attend, anyone that would like to go with me is much welcomed. We could use both Continental and Militia for Rev. War. If we get enough participants we could represent the war of 1812 as well. The only kicker is, we cannot fire weapons… display only. Please let me know by Monday if you can attend so I can let Mr. Morrison know how many to expect.
2. Tuesday, November 13th 5pm – 6pm: Lighting of the Elizabeththon Community Christmas Tree. The Chamber of Commerce has requested our presence at this annual event to help ring in the holiday season. We always fire a volley at the tree lighting so come prepared to shoot. Please let me know by Monday if you can come.
3. Saturday & Sunday, November 17 & 18: November Muster and Harvest Celebration. Its time to be thankful and its time for the “big feed”. Please let me know by Monday if you would like to be put on the schedule for a program or presentation. The Pot Luck Harvest Meal will be at 1:00 on Saturday. Period Cooking/Serving vessels and utensils strongly encouraged as we will be eating during public hours. Cider will be provided otherwise bring your own beverage (non-alcoholic of course). Looking forward to a good time of fellowship.
Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
Yours in Service,
